PageRank Tutorial:
First I want to say that page rank is not as important as it used
to be, but it is still important. PageRank of 0, on the Google Toolbar,
is not unusual, especially for newer websites with few or no relevant
links to their own web pages. But you may have noticed that it is not
necessarily important to Search Engine Rank Positions, as there are
often sites with few or no links to their own site, but highly relevant
content.
PageRank is a calculation of the popularity of a web page, based
on the quality and number of links that point to it.
A link to your page is seen as a vote of confidence, and a vote from
a site that has high page rank is much more valuable. A link from a
PR7 site is worth dozens of links from PR2 sites. So the best way to
improve your page rank is to get some links from high page rank sites.
If you
have more than one site or sub-domain don't link them from every page
to each other, as Google sees this as a prohibited technique to trick
the search engines and would penalize your site.

other sites are linking to you.
Google says:
"PageRank also considers the importance of each page that casts a vote,
as votes from some pages are considered to have greater value, thus
giving the linked page greater value. Important pages receive a higher
PageRank and appear at the top of the search results. "

Each page should have a link back to your Home Page, (usually a linked
logo) and perhaps to some of your other sub-pages as well.
There are many reasons for doing these things:
- Assigns weight to your pages if other sites with PR 4 or higher link
to them.
- Takes weight away from your pages if they link to other sites (this
doesn't mean that you should eliminate your external links, just be
judicious.) And bear in mind that if those external sites are yours,
you're passing some of this site's PR on to your other sites.
- In passing PR on to external sites, the PR is divvied up among all
the links on that page.
- Some of the PR on any one of your site's pages is recycled back to
your site if you have internal links (like "Home Page").

PageRank was developed as the basic sorting algorithm for their search tool (then known as Backrub) and was based on a very simple concept, trust

MIRO --- Tuesday, January 4 2005, 00:59 It is better to make circles than link all the sites back and forth on every page.
I do circles A->B->C->D->A-> there is no cheat
